NEWCROSS HEALTHCARE x DESIGN SYSTEM
A design system is a collection of reusable components with clearly defined standards for use. These components combine pattern libraries, colors, and fonts with standardized design principles to help companies achieve consistent visual design at scale.
BRAND
Following a series of internal workshops and discovery sessions we’ve refined and defined our brand values, visual identity and tone of voice which are all essential to how we communicate our brand to the rest of the world.
Multi Transformative Purpose
The goal is to transform and personalise the experience of care, by creating a local, national and global healthcare ecosystem.
COLOURS & TYPOGRAPHY
Our colour palette has four distinctive sets - Primary, Lines of Business, Neutral and Semantic - which alongside typography styles has been prepared as design tokes for developers.
ATOMIC DESIGN
Documenting all the design elements using the Atomic Design principles.
Promoting consistency and scalability, Atomic Design allows us to quickly design many screens that are easy to maintain and update with new features. Multiple designers can work on the same project in unison because everything is clearly defined.
DiGital DESIGN guideLINE
Using our Figma documentation, developers are building a complex digital design guideline. This is a frontend workshop for building UI components
and pages in isolation.
The Halo Design System provides components and tools to help product teams work more efficiently, and to make Newcross Healthecare’s applications more cohesive.
The benefits of the Digital Design Guideline include:
Visual consistency helps make an interface less confusing to users.
It speeds up the definition of new features. By having a library of pre-designed components, you can pick and choose which existing elements can be used to make up new screens.
Developers can easily choose from pre-developed components to build new features.
Eventually you will reach a point where very little new elements need to be designed. For any new app features, the default should be to select components from the Storybook.
